Greg Goff kindly joined TPH on Aug 22 in the latest edition of our CEO Luncheon Series. TSO appointed Mr. Goff CEO and President in May 2010 and Greg shared his thoughts yesterday on the reason why he accepted the position and the transformation of the company under his watch. While admitting that he actually didn’t know much about TSO when he learned of the opportunity, the challenge of the “act of creation” with a legacy US refining company lured him from his nearly 30-year prior career at COP. Mr. Goff also touched on the challenges of the regulatory environment faced by US refiners (particularly in CA), the differences between managing E&P businesses at COP vs. TSO’s R&M focus, how the current length in crude/product inventories can get cleaned up and the utmost importance of workforce diversity of all facets. Greg’s leadership qualities were readily apparent during our 1+ hour town hall-style conversation.
